August 30, 2024
During the 2024 Legislative Session, the Mississippi Senate and House of Representatives passed HB1489, a bill that provides benefits to all EMS providers in the state. Governor Tate Reeves held a ceremonial signing of the bill on August 28, surrounded by EMS providers from across Mississippi. The bill's authors, Representatives Stacey Hobgood-Wilkes and Lester 'Bubba' Carpenter, were also in attendance. The executive branch of the Mississippi state government and state legislators continue to demonstrate strong support for EMS, which benefits every citizen in the state. We are grateful for their unwavering commitment to our mission.

EMS representatives from all over the state from different ambulance providers were at the Capitol today to promote and discuss our EMS bills.
We had two very important House bills impacting EMS being voted on by the House Insurance Committee. Both passed unanimously. Thank you Committee Chairman Jerry Turner and member Representatives for your show of support.
Thank you Representative Stacy Hobgood Wilkes and Representative Lester “Bubba” Carpenter for co-authoring these bills and supporting EMS. (Pictured Front row middle persons: female wearing a black dress is Rep. Hobgood Wilkes and male wearing blue suit is Rep. Bubba Carpenter)
